Illegal Eagle

I am asking politely that none of my blog readers turn me in for breaking the law. As you can see, we turned Beau around in his car seat! Technically, it is not yet time. He is supposed to be over 20 pounds and a year old. While he met the former criteria around 6 months of age, we are a few weeks shy of the latter! Let me tell you - He LOVES it! He grinned from ear to ear the first day he rode that way. It was so cute! I love being able to turn around or look in the rear-view mirror and see them both!

Spring Break?

Spring Break brings a week of no school for everyone. While the majority of students and teachers love this, I think it leaves most parents a little crazy! I have not worked all week due to "Spring Break" - we have had several trips to the gym, a journey to the mall for new shoes for both kids, a trip to the public library and a trip to the zoo with some of our buddies! The gym trips are dual purpose - mommy gets a much needed workout and a much needed kid break!! Trying on shoes on my 3 year old and 10 month old was crazy. Beau even managed to crawl into the back of the store where they store all of their shoes...that kid is so fast. He actually started to take a step of two this week - he actually needs shoes now! Abby loves to go to the library. Did you all know you can check out kids videos for free for a week? They have Dora, Sesame Street, Barney...you name it. It sure beats buying them! I think it teaches a sense of responsibility as well. You get to "borrow" books and videos and "have to take really good care of them so other people can borrow them too" - Abby just loves the concept and keeps a close eye on her library treasures. (Hopefully mommy will remember to return them on time - that is the real challenge!) Wednesday we went to the zoo with Emily and Brooke, Frances, and Sharita and Little Howard. It was a beautiful day! We had a good time and it completely wears the kiddies out!

Fancy Feet

Last week Abby's Mee-Mee took her on a girls' trip to the nail salon for a little mani/pedi. Abby was so proud of the results when she got home. She could not wait to show her daddy, especially the flowers on her toes. She asked me to take a picture of them and told me I could put it on the blog! Aren't they cute?

Sick Babies

Hello all! Here are a couple of older pictures that Aunt Jody still had on her camera when she visited last weekend. I thought they were pretty funny. They are both so much bigger now! Both of the kids are sick and Toby is out of town! Both kids have fevers and nasty looking throats right now. Mommy missed work yesterday and it is not looking good for tomorrow. I just hope they start feeling better soon. Daddy comes home tonight and I sure will welcome the extra hands! "Hold me" is the theme around the house right now and I keep forgetting who I gave motrin or tylenol to last and what time I gave it to them!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is our 6th anniversary!!! I can not believe we have already been married for that long. It is funny to think about us getting married. We seem like such babies in hindsight. I was 23 and Toby was 26. I had just finished nursing school and Toby was in his third year of medical school. I wish it was some kind of tradition or requirement to go on a honeymoon every anniversary!! I guess I'll settle for a nice dinner - haha! We did get to go out to eat tonight at Flemings and then stroll through Borders next door at a leisurely pace - all of this thanks to Aunt Jody who was at home with our 2 kiddies!! She has helped watch them ALL day (Thanks Aunt Jody)!! All she got in return is a Starbucks and the new People magazine - although a really good one - have ya'll seen the cover? I thought she might like it...Anyways, here's a little picture full of nostalgia. Toby's friend Jammey took it. Don't ya'll think we should get paid tons of money and Nation's Bank could use it in an ad or something? Actually, I think they may have been out of business even as that picture was taken. (It was the biggest umbrella at the place...yes....it rained on our wedding day...is that supposed to be symbolic of anything but pure marital bliss?) I am so happy to be married to the guy of my dreams!!

Playing Around

Abby and Beau love to play!! One of Beau's favorites is Abby's kitchen. He loves to play in all of the food, utensils, pots and pans. (Or, as Toby puts it, he loves to beat the heck out of it and throw everything in the floor.) Abby is extremely patient with his "making a mess" with her stuff, and will even help him clean it up after he is finished!

Beau's first shower

Hello everybody!! This morning Toby handed over a naked baby for his first shower! He really like the water spraying everywhere and kept trying to "catch" it with his little hands. So cute...
