We are having a great summer so far. I am still getting adjusted to having both kids home with me ALL of the time, but it is fun for the most part!! We finished May with the end of Abby's T-ball and ballet, and have picked up tennis for the month of June. I will be really glad when we can enroll Beau in some of these activities next summer - some organized exercise to get some of that energy out! He hits the ground running in the morning and never stops! The kids and I took a trip back to Nashville the week before last. Aunt Jody stayed with us the first part of the week and helped me watch the kids (thanks so much, Jody!). We took a trip to Chattanooga to visit with Toby and Jody's cousins, and we went to the Discovery Museum to eat with my friend Amber and her little boy Andrew. Austin had his birthday party that Friday and turned 5!! It is hard to believe Abby will be 5 at the end of the year... We got to spend some time with Michael, Courtney and Will as well and Berry and Ann in Nashville over the weekend. Happy Birthday to Uncle Michael while we were there! Niki then made the long trip back with me and stayed for 4 days here with us. It was so nice to have her here - we went shopping, out to eat and to see
SATC. I always get sort of down after someone visits because it reminds me of how much I miss everyone! Thanks so much for coming down, Niki!! She flew back home on Thursday. Toby has been working a TON, but he did get to go to church with us on Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to the best daddy I could ask for for our two kids!! We love you!
Enjoying some Maggie Moos on a hot summer day.
This is Abby at "
Mudbug Madness" - a
crawfish festival they have here every year. It is very redneck with a
crawfish eating contest, lots of booths, live music, etc. She is holding a
crawfish - which she actually likes, although I have to do all of the work for her to get the edible part out!
Beau at the face painting table. He got a snake on his arm.
Abby high up in the air - check out that hair
Beau looking a little worried - he actually loved it and threw somewhat of a fit to get back on when he had to get off.
Beau showing off his new
Nemo kickboard.
Abby taking her tennis lesson.
Beau and his latest obsession - Cars. He absolutely loves Mac (the big trailer truck) and Lightening McQueen. He sleeps with them and carries them everywhere we go.
Playing in the front yard in the water. Check out Toby's new sprinkler.
Abby
pre-ballet concert. Never has a child enjoyed putting makeup on more in their entire life!
Modeling her "flower" headpiece.
Post-recital with her proud Daddy.
The human sized bubble machine in front of the Discovery Museum - I thought this was the neatest thing...
Andrew in his bubble - check out the precious hair on him...
Beau and his dog ears at the craft table.
Abby in the medical area giving Aunt Jody a check up.
The kids love to swing on their cousins' fire hose swing. It is so long and swings so smoothly - it is really a lot of fun!!
Beau's turn.
Abby's turn.
Austin blowing out 5 candles on his
Spiderman cake.
The kids at the birthday party - that's a motley crew!!!
Austin whacking the pinata open.
Happy Birthday, Michael! This is a
pre-ice cream cake picture.
Abby sliding down the wet slide into a pool at the neighbor's house. Safe - not really. Fun - definitely!
Beau hanging out in the pool.
Toby and I posing for the camera!
Happy Birthday, Curran!
Family picture of my neighbors at the
barbecue for Curran's birthday.
Niki getting her makeup done by the future makeup artist. Her hair looks good, too!
Niki and I before going to eat Mexican - yummy!
Friday I went to my neighbor's art show opening in Alexandria. This is a picture of her awesome work.
Until next time...
