Is Anyone Out There???

Getting ready to go swimming right around the time school started. I think this was our last trip to the pool.

Abby received her Bible at a ceremony a few weeks ago at First Baptist Church. Every year the 1st graders receive a Bible that they study from through middle school.
Snuggling on the couch.
I could just eat those thighs...
Last year, as Lane was sleeping quietly in her infant carrier at 6 weeks old, I was sifting through costumes the day after Halloween. I found 2 precious costumes, a sheep (above) and a giraffe (below). Not being able to decide between the 2, I bought both for $5 each!!! Gotta' love a bargain:) Now, the hard decision is trying to decide which one she should be for Halloween this year. I think we are going with the sheep, simply because Abby wants to be Little Bo Peep so Lane can be her sheep.
The giraffe is SUPER cute, too, though...
She may even like it better! Ha!
HOUSE FOR SALE!!!

Well, we finally put our house up for sale by owner last weekend. I am hoping we aren't going to have too much difficulty getting it sold, as it really is a sweet house both inside and out. We have really enjoyed our time here, but I am ready to go home!

I don't know if anyone out there is even reading or looking at blogs anymore, but I am going to try and keep mine going as a scrapbook of sorts. I just can't get in to facebook as much...doesn't seem near as personal.

School Days - Abby Starts 1st Grade and Beau starts K-4

The kids went back to school this week!
Abby started 1st grade with a half day on Wednesday. She is in class with Mrs. Keen at First Baptist again. This year she started wearing uniforms - which is just about the cutest thing I think I have ever seen. There is a little jumper that is an option, but Abby refuses to wear it, sticking diligently to the skorts. She is really excited to be going back and is ready to learn, which is so nice for Mommy:) Homework here we come!
Beau started K4 (pre-k for all of you Tennesseeans reading). He will be going to school every day this year (sniff, sniff)! He is more than ready to go - never looking back or hesitating about starting something new. He is all smiles and poses, and never hesitates to jump right in and enjoy himself. He has Mrs. Caraway this year, and is in class with lots of his buddies, so I know he will have a great (half of a) year at First Baptist.
We adore the kids' school year and will miss it terribly when we move. They have been a wonderful blessing to our family, and not only teach, but love, our children. We are excited to start another school year. Here we go!!!

Kisses from Niki on our trip to Nashville.
We wore her out running around all day. She is a little trooper. (Yes, she is riding illegally. She is turned around and not quite a year. She is, however, 25lbs at 9 months.)
Camping for the 4th with Daddy at Camp NayNay, our family's annual July 4th campout.
Happy 4th of July!
Enjoying some sparklers!

We are doing well down here in Louisiana. We have been super busy since school has been out. We had a family beach trip to Destin and we made a trip in to Nashville to visit with family and get Lane's pictures made. We also closed on a house in Brentwood, which is very exciting news for us. Not as exciting is the two mortgages we will be paying the next few months.

We will be in for a quick visit at the end of July, then again in September. Hopefully we will get to catch up with everyone on our trips in!
